Fixings 

For the cake

225g/8oz plain flour

350g/12½oz caster sugar

85g/3oz cocoa powder

1½ tsp preparing powder

1½ tsp bicarbonate of pop

2 unfenced eggs

250ml/9fl oz drain

125ml/4½fl oz vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla concentrate

250ml/9fl oz bubbling water

For the chocolate icing

200g/7oz plain chocolate

200ml/7fl oz twofold cream

Technique 

Preheat the broiler to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Oil and line two 20cm/8in sandwich tins.

For the cake, put the greater part of the cake fixings, with the exception of the bubbling water, into a huge blending dish. Utilizing a wooden spoon, or electric whisk, beat the blend until the point that smooth and very much consolidated.
